Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a genetic condition that shows up as raised reddish patches of skin that can appear in any area of the body. Someone can go years without developing any symptoms of psoriasis until it's triggered. If your family has a history of psoriasis, some triggers to look out for include:

- Strep throat
- Taking certain medicines, such as lithium or medicine to prevent malaria
- Cold, dry weather
- A cut, scratch, or bad sunburn

Some versions of Psoriasis:
- Plaque psoriasis
- Appears as reddish patches, possibly covered in a silvery-white coating, usually on the knees, elbows, lower back or scalp
- Guttate psoriasis
- Appears as small red spots, usually on the trunk, arms, and legs
- Pustular psoriasis
- Appears as red, swollen bumps on the palms of the hand and soles of the feet
- Inverse psoriasis
- Appears as smooth red patches that look raw or tender, usually on the armpits, the pelvic area, or under the breasts
- Erythrodermic psoriasis
- Appears as bright red, burned-looking skin over most of the body
- Erythrodermic psoriasis has other symptoms such as fever or chills, increased heart-rate, itching, and pain
- Erythrodermic psoriasis can be extremely dangerous. If someone is presenting with these symptoms, they should be taken to the hospital immediately
